A review of bioinformatic methods for forensic DNA analyses
30 March 2018
ESR scientists Alex Liu and SallyAnn Harbison examine how new and improved bioinformatic methods are required to process and interpret more data available through three classes of markers playing an increasingly important role in the future of forensic DNA typing.
New technologies are being developed to process information from short tandem repeats, single nucleotide polymorphisms and whole mitochondrial analyses.
Their review of the current state of bioinformatic methods and tools was published as a journal article.
